The Secrets Of Successful Skin Hydration

Diposkan oleh dvb Tuesday, January 27, 2009 Posted under -

If you look at your own skin care range or skin hydration products you will see many of the following harmful chemicals in, some of which are proven to cause cancer. They simply strip your skin of its natural oils and increase the chance of irritation and infection.

Mineral oil (paraffin wax, petrolatum), parabens (methyl, propyl) and fragrances which could be any number of thousands of chemicals are present, and dioxane, known to the state of California to cause cancer.

If you look hard enough there are products out there that can significantly and naturally come to your aid. Ingredients in a good hydrating mask should include Cynergy TK, an extract from sheep's wool which will boost your levels of collagen and elastin, the two important skin proteins responsible for keeping your skin young looking and smooth.

Another very special nutrient is called Rigin™, which has been shown in clinical trials to deeply hydrate the skin around the face and neck, and make it firmer and softer.

In fact in clinical trials, volunteers found they had a 24% increase in hydration after just two weeks, and a 40% increase in skin firmness around the neck.

When these powerful ingredients in a skin hydration mask are also combined with natural oils like Macadamia, and Jojoba, you have a winning combination to deeply moisturize and hydrate the skin, drenching it in goodness.

So forget the mainstream products and their chemicals and the various home remedies for skin hydration which never quite work, and instead opt for effective and natural skin hydration using cutting-edge ingredients to help you look as young on the outside as you feel on the inside!

5 Sensitive Skin Care Tips

Diposkan oleh dvb Thursday, January 22, 2009 Posted under -

Ever wondered what to do in order to take care of your sensitive skin without irritating it? There are a lot of products out there that are supposedly made to be kind but most of them contain harsh chemical ingredients that can irritate your skin. Here are 5 skin care tips for people with sensitive skin.

1. Use fragrance-free sensitive skin products. Many mainstream care products contain fragrances, which are usually made of chemicals. In fact, the word "fragrance" on an ingredient list can refer to up to 4,000 toxic chemicals.

Artificial fragrances affect the central nervous system and can cause depression, irritability, and hyperactivity. They can also irritate your skin and cause allergic reactions. You should even avoid products that contain "natural" fragrances because they tend to go rancid quickly.

2. Look for products that are 100% natural and completely free of synthetic ingredients. To make sure a product is natural, find out whether it is

Only edible products are safe enough to put on your skin because whatever you apply gets absorbed and enters your bloodstream so you are effectively eating it.

3. You might think it's necessary to buy products that are specifically catered to delicate skin but that is not true. Good skin care products should be compatible with all skin types and climates.

Low-quality products cater to specific skin types because they contain cheap ingredients such as mineral oil, which can irritate sensitive skin.

4. Use all natural products that can actually be applied to broken skin. Most products contain synthetic ingredients that can worsen irritation but some good products can actually soothe irritated or broken skin and aid in the healing process.

5. Use sensitive skin products that contain gentle yet effective ingredients such as Cynergy TK, Nano-Lipobelle H EQ10, and Phytessence Wakame. These three ingredients are natural and gentle yet very effective in nourishing, hydrating, and revitalizing sensitive skin types. They are bio-available ingredients that have the ability to effectively integrate your skin cells.

In conclusion, keep these points in mind when shopping around for sensitive skin care products. Mainstream skin care products cater to specific skin types but they often contain cheap ingredients that can harm you. Look for all natural products that fit these descriptions and when you find them, you'll be on the way to having beautiful, youthful skin.

How to control your blood sugar levels is one of the most important thing a diabetic can do. To ensure a long and healthy life free of complications a diabetic must learn to control their levels. Learning what foods lower blood sugar can be one of the most important things you learn in the treatment of your diabetes. Below is just a few of the many foods you can choose for a healthier life while dealing with diabetes.

First, the french bean or kidney bean as it is more commonly known is a great food for lowering sugar. They are high in fiber and proteins with a reasonable amount of complex carbohydrates. They are very highly recommended by dietitians for maintaining proper blood sugar levels.

Second, lettuce is lower in cholesterol content and it helps prevent diabetics from cardiovascular diseases. Lettuce is low in carbohydrates and at the same time it contains only 3% carbohydrates. This combination makes lettuce an ideal food in lowering your levels.

Third, the juice of the Brussels sprout along with juice of the french bean mixed together are considered an excellent natural remedy in the treatment of diabetes. They say it works by stimulating the production of insulin thus lowering the blood sugar levels.

Top 5 Food Recipes For Diabetics

Diposkan oleh dvb Thursday, January 8, 2009 Posted under -

A Doctor once told me when I was caring for my diabetic Mom that "diabetics are people too!" Now, he was not looking to make me feel stupid or anything like that, what he was trying to tell me is that any diabetic is going to have the same desires, appetites and yearnings for certain "bad" foods that other people have.

With that in mind, finding diabetic foods or recipes for a diabetic can be terribly daunting. Personally, I prefer making my own food rather than going out and purchasing ready-made food from a health-food store that is specifically made for a diabetic meal.

Doctors are just coming to the realization that different foods affect one diabetic's blood sugar differently than another person's blood sugar will be affected, thus it's a matter of trial and error to find the food that will generate a rise in blood sugar, and which will not cause as high a rise.

For instance here is a recipe shared by another diabetic for almost-sugar free cheesecake!

Ingredients for Almost Sugar Free Cheesecake

For the Base:

Cracker Crumbs 1 ¾ Cups

Fat Free Butter ½ Cup

Powdered Cinnamon ½ Tea Spoon

For the Cheesecake:

1 Cup Water

Sugar Free Lemon Gelatin 1 Pack

Vanilla Extract 2 Tea Spoons

Light Whipped Topping 1 Cup

Fat Free Cream Cheese 1 Pack

Base preparation:

Pre heat the oven at 175 Degrees C or at 350 Degrees F.

Take a bowl and mix the butter ,cracker crumbs and cinnamon powder. Blend well.

Dust a cooking pan with flour so that the base does not stick. Press the mixture into the pan, so that it is ready to receive the cheesecake mix you'll make next.

Bake in the oven for about 9 - 10 minutes at 350 degrees. Put this aside to cool.

Cheesecake preparation

In a bowl beat the mixture of cream cheese and vanilla until it is smooth.

Boil one cup of water, then dissolve the gelatin in it. Set this aside and allow this mixture to thicken a little. Take care that it does not cool, as it will set and then form lumps.

Add the gelatin to the mixture of cream cheese and vanilla, and then fold in the whipped topping.

Pour this mixture into the base that was made before. Put this into a refrigerator overnight.

Garnishing

Depending on the fruit used, this will also make the diabetic sugar rise, so be sure and include it in the meal plan.

Now, this will give you an idea of a recipe that was obviously well thought out by a diabetic for use in a sugar-restricted diabetic meal, and who does not crave cheesecake?

My point is that you need to investigate various recipes yourself and adapt them. For example, here is one for almost sugar-free cherry pie that a friend gave me, and it's one of my favorites!

Ingredients For Almost Sugar Free Cherry Pie

2 cans of water pack pitted tart cherries

1 small package of COOK & SERVE sugar free vanilla pudding

1 small package of sugar free black cherry jello

4 tsp of Splenda

1 9-inch pie shell, baked

Preparation:

Drain cherries and pour the juice into a saucepan.

Set aside cherries.

Next:

In saucepan mix cherry juice and dry pudding mix and stir with a whisk while bringing the mixture to a boil.

Keep stirring until it is thickened and bubbly.

Remove from heat.

Stir in jello powder and Splenda until mixed well with the pudding and cherry juice.

Add cherries and mix until they are coated.

Transfer mixture into the piecrust and cool completely. Refrigerate until fully set for approximately three to four hours.

By varying the ingredients you can make pies out of different fruit, apples, peaches, or even pumpkin pie! Each time you will have to take into account the amount of fruit used and what kind it is, etc. so that you can well estimate the calories in your recipe, the fat, the carbohydrates, fiber and cholesterol. You'll also learn with research on the Internet how to estimate your exchanges. Again, the biggest clue is always research. Bon appetit!

True Science, Myth Or Magic?

Diposkan oleh dvb Tuesday, January 6, 2009 Posted under -

When I began using my first 'Radionic black box' back in '85, my understanding as to what it could do was minimal, but my hopes were high. A 'rates book' came with this new 'black box'. What made me marvel at this work that had been done in the 1950's was that these clever minds had discovered and developed a way of calibrating everything with it's 'own unique number'.

Through trial and error and the powers of 'deduction' they managed to formalise the intangible. A true test to the scientific method! With this 'rates book' I could simply dial in; emotions, colours, metaphysical levels, energy systems, the moon, whatever! I could stimulate or sedate. I could affect physical levels through to the etheric. I could literally influence any atom, in any cell, in any organ, in any system, in any living thing. Mind blowing! This was 'like magic', only real and 'concrete'. I tried to explain this 'miracle of Science' to people but it was dismissed as myth.

At first, I had to conduct a crude way of 'testing' to see if this was all real. For Radionics to work, three things need to work perfectly. Firstly, that the rate used for the 'target' on the 'witness' was correct. Secondly, that the machine was calibrated correctly so it could 'transmit' via the 'electromagnetic field of the earth'. Thirdly, that the 'witness' or 'receiver' was getting the 'energy' in sufficient amounts to register on a 'conscious' effectual level. I initially tested it on myself. I could really 'feel' a sensation.

I thought of an immediate use for this machine, it could relieve headaches! It worked like a charm. What I could do with this 'machine' was only limited by my ability as an operator. I went to my brother and asked him if he would help me with an experiment. I said to him I would do something to his body and I wanted him to tell me what part of the body it was and what was the 'sensation'. After about 10 minutes my brother indicated the part that he thought was being 'targeted' and said he felt 'a tingling and full sensation' in that body part. This was absolutely correct! I then 'neutralised' the effect of the 'experiment'. I had no need to find any further confirmation that this was indeed real and that the only question remaining was whether I really knew how to 'operate' the Radionic machine properly.

Radionics has a HIGH level of 'validity' for two main reasons. Firstly, electromagnetic radiation is an accepted 'real and measurable energy'. Secondly, by using the 'scientific method', a whole world of possibilities can be 'postulated' and tested with a high degree of certainty. We have been given so many gifts and talents that allow us insight into dimensions and worlds, that at first seem like fantasy, but are in fact real. In time these 'beliefs' become 'real' with additional evidence.

Once I had confirmed my belief in this 'Radionic machine', I began to do some real tests. I had always been fascinated in the Chakras. They were supposed to be 'centers' of tremendous 'force and energy'. What Chakra would I focus on?. While the Brow and Crown Chakras were very significant, I also read about being cautious about how these were stimulated. I intuitively chose the Heart Chakra. I chuckle a little when I remember back to those days in the 80's and how little I knew. I had the faith of a child and I was willing to explore things. I dialed up the number of the 'Heart Chakra' and had a guess at the potency. I competed the first dosage. Then waited an hour and gave myself another dose. Soon after, I began to feel 'lifted' in my 'spirits'.

I could feel my nerve endings on my skin tingling. The sensations spread to my whole body. I felt that I was 'opening up' to everything. I began to feel warm, elated and relaxed. Any fear was overcome by 'euphoria'. These sensations kept on building for some 30 minutes. I became aware that even though I was still in the present I 'understood intuitively' the bigger picture. I felt; a deep, spacial, quiet, yet excited, compassion for myself and for everything! Like a note changing up several keys! Colours became more vivid, sounds more harmonic, sensations more sensual and gentle. This 'great compassion' expanded like a wave beyond everything. It was one of the most beautiful experiences I had ever had in my life. Profound and beautiful beyond words!

Too beautiful! It left me with a sense of 'wonder and awe' about life. Whenever I remember the experience, I feel like I get right back there and feel 'reconnected' once again. I feel part of the 'big picture' again. These were real 'experiences' and not just something in the head. It literally changed my life and left me with a feeling of deep compassion, gratitude and respect for all life. While that 'state of being' was not sustained for long, I will always remember these experiences that go beyond the mind and questioning.

Diabetes - What You Should Know

Diposkan oleh dvb Sunday, January 4, 2009 Posted under -

Introduction

Nowadays, with the increasing prevalence of weight problems, you are at an increased risk for diabetes, especially if you have a family history of diabetes. Diabetes can cause many negative health impacts. Therefore, to protect your health, you should have a general understanding of diabetes.

Type I Diabetes

There area two types of diabetes: Type I and Type II. Type I diabetes is usually diagnosed in children or young adults. An auto-immune disorder, the body attacks the insulin-producing beta cells of the pancreas. Therefore, the body does not produce enough insulin. It is usually treated with insulin, diet, and exercise.

Type II Diabetes

On the other hand, type II diabetes usually occurs in adulthood, although it is becoming increasingly more common in children and young adults. Type II diabetes occurs because the body either does not produce enough insulin or the body is insulin resistant. Insulin resistance is where the body does not respond appropriately to insulin. Dependent on the severity of the case, it is usually treated by diet and exercise in the beginning. If the blood sugar levels cannot be brought under control with diet and exercise, oral anti-diabetic medication may need to be added. In some cases, insulin shots need to be added too.

Symptoms of Diabetes

Since either Type I or Type II diabetes can have deletrious effects upon the body, it is important to know the symptoms. Some of the symptoms can be:

  • Thirst
  • Frequent urination
  • Blurry vision
  • Losing weight without trying
  • Fatique
  • Hunger

Conclusion

If you suspect you may have diabetes, see your medical provider immediately. He or she will order to a fasting plasma glucose test. With this test, fasting is required for 8 to 14 hours before the test. The doctor will draw blood, and the lab will test if for glucose levels in the blood. If the test is 99 or below, you do not have diabetes. If the test is 100 to 125, you are considered pre-diabetic. If the test is 126 or above, you are usually considered diabetic. If you are diagnosed with pre-diabetes or diabetes, your medical provider will usually send you to a nutritionist so you can learn the diet and lifestyle changes needed to bring your diabetes under control.

Starting an Exercise Program for Better Health

Diposkan oleh dvb Friday, January 2, 2009 Posted under -

We are all well aware of the importance of exercise. Studies constantly come out showing that exercise can reverse many serious health problems and increase our longevity. Americans spend more on health and exercise equipment than any other country. Yet few of us follow through on an exercise regime. The main reason for this is time. It can be hard to find time in a busy schedule to include an hour or more at the gym. By starting with a manageable schedule and choosing something you enjoy, you can begin an exercise program and stick with it.

Be sure to see your doctor before you begin your new exercise program, especially if you have not been active in a long time.

Start small

Begin your exercise regime slowly. Jumping in too fast can lead to injury which will definitely decrease your desire to stick with it. Do not expect too much too fast. Start out with small goals that you can measure.

Choose a small amount of time each day such as 10 minutes and schedule it into your daily routine. Do not let exercise to be the thing that gets cut out of your schedule when you get busier. Think of it as a regular part of your daily duties such as brushing your hair or flossing your teeth.

Before you begin, remember to do some warm-up exercises. Warming up prepares your muscles for the exercise and helps to prevent injury. Do about 5 to 10 minutes of jumping jacks or a slow jog. If at any time during your exercise you begin to feel pain, just stop. If you keep going it could lead to injury. Drink plenty of water before you start and have an extra glass if it’s a hot day. Don’t exercise on an empty stomach especially if you do your routine first thing in the morning.

Make it enjoyable

The most important thing you can do when starting an exercise regime is to choose something that you enjoy. If you have always wanted to learn to dance, sign up for dance lessons. Take a beginner aerobics course at a gym or join a tennis league. Aim for about 30 minutes of physical activity per day.

One of the best exercises for the beginner is walking. You can easily adjust the intensity and length of your workout, and increase both as you become more fit. It can be done at any time that best fits into your day. Studies have shown that walking can combat health problems such as diabetes, high cholesterol and high blood pressure.

Exercising can be especially valuable for women in combating bone loss which comes with age. As women get older they begin to lose about 1% of their bone mass per year. Following menopause it increases to 3% per year. Weight bearing exercise stimulates the bone to make new bone cells.

To enjoy the health benefits of exercise you have to make it part of your daily routine. Start by doing something you enjoy or even began with walking. Schedule exercise into your daily routine and do a little each day. Before you know it you will be healthier than ever before!
